God's Abundance, Elijah Cup and FlockNote

My Dear Friends in Christ,
 
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus is confronted by the limitations of his society, his culture, and his faith: He is not supposed to engage a woman in conversation, and no less a Canaanite woman. Yet due to her persistence, Jesus responds with incredible results.  The lesson seems clear: the world’s limitations do not limit God’s abundance!
 
Before I go any further, three big thank you’s! Thank you to Fr. Moe for his nine years of tireless service to the parish! Thank you to our Parish Council for sponsoring a memorable send-off for Fr. Moe this week.  Finally, thank you (and welcome) to Fr. John McHugh for accepting the call of the friars to serve as Associate Pastor here!
 
Two amplifications of this week’s announcements:
